  Back In My Own Backyard

This is the provisional list of songs being recorded for the second 'studio' album. The recordings & mixes are all still in draft mode only, some vocals are first take only. Some tracks are only the home recordings. These are done as 'ghost' tracks for the studio sessions, although generally the bass and keyboards are used in the final mix.

The story behind the song:-

Back In My Own Backyard

this flight is new to me i’ve
been here once before
too many times too many mem’ries
i gotta try to ignore
the cabin crew the in-flight mags and i’m
trying to slow down
find my around these lonely skies without
a sound

"Another travel song. I was planning a trip down south to my hometown of Robinvale, Victoria, when I thought of the idea of writing an album based on the theme that is the title. The trip didn't eventuate, and it wasn't till I actually got on the plane for what was a business trip some eighteen months later that the song eventually got it's start. The last time I had been in an airport expecting to catch a flight was just before my mother passed away hence the sombre feeling as I was getting ready to take off on this flight.

Some of the tracks are older songs previously written 'in my own backyard'.

That business trip also took me to the wonderful city of Perth in Western Australia, which I had not seen for 20 years, and which inspired the last track "Slip Away"". - LAS
